THE KATEY SAGAL BAND returns to MBar in Hollywood for the first of two newly scheduled dates,  on Saturday, February 27 at 8 pm.  If you haven't been to one of her shows yet, don't miss the opportunity to hear the multi-talented Ms. Sagal perform in an intimate setting. "Katey Sagal is....a genuinely gifted singer...Her deep connection with the songs was clear....Her voice was powerful and effective...Sagal's four-piece band also added strong musical support and effective harmonies...." Elliot Zweibach, Cabaret Scenes. “Sagal knows how to entertain without seeming to try too hard, an art form in itself …. The breadth of Sagal's style as a songwriter is impressive. "Some Things are Better Left Unsaid" sounded like an Al Green soul-searcher. "Can't Hurry the Harvest" is a loping, infectiously hummable folk song. "September Rain" is a slow and passionate blues, a style that suits Sagal's smoky voice well.” Orange County Register.
To guarantee a seat, please pre-purchase tickets at www.plays411.net/kateysagal or via phone at 323.960.5563. Tickets can also be purchased at the door (cash only) if available.

Datzer

"THE DANIEL DATZER EXPERIENCE" RETURNS TO THE MBAR IN HOLLYWOOD

Following a triumphant debut last month, Daniel Datzer returns to the MBar with his music and comedy Cabaret show.  The charismatic Mr. Datzer combines an eclectic mix of songs from Laura Branigan's "Gloria" to Tracy Chapman's "I Did It All"  with several original collaborations with singer/songwriter Mitch Kaplan, Sandra Bernhard's longtime Musical Director.  From a childhood obsession with Nun Movies through a life spanning a broad array of interests, Mr. Datzer offers a unique and upbeat look at modern life.  In addition to the onstage band lead by Mitch Kaplan, and featuring Nate Light ("Louis And Keeley Live At The Sahara") on bass, and Denise "Delish" Fraser (Sandra Bernhard's "I'm Still Here Damn It") on drums, the celebrated vocal harmony group "The Tonics" will be Mr. Datzer's specials guests.

"If the essence of cabaret is an intimate connection between a singer and the audience,
then Todd Murray has the art form mastered."
— Barbara Leavy, Cabaret Scenes, Nov. 2008

"Todd Murray offers one of the smoothest, most romantic cabaret/nightclub shows imaginable,
not least because his voice — a true bass/baritone — is practically unique in this arena."
